Dear LIB readers: I have had sex with 4 men, is that too much for an 18 year old?

From a female LIB reader
I am 18 years old and in my second year in a private university. I started having sex when I turned 16 after leaving secondary school and I have had four sexual partners so far. I dated 2 of the boys while the other 2 were just flings. Recently I confided in a friend the number of men I've been with and I later saw text exchanges between her and another mutual friend of ours laughing at me and criticizing me. They called me all sorts of names including wayward and loose. I've been with only four men, is that too much for a girl my age? I thought it was the norm so why are my friends condemning me and passing the info around?
Four sexual partners at 18? That's waaaay to much! My opinion. What do you guys think?

Ribadu blasts ex-IGP Okiro, describes him as corrupt, 'shameless'

Former EFCC chairman Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has responded to former Inspector General of Police Mike Okiro who said yesterday that Ribadu lied when he claimed that he (Okiro) was behind two assassination attempt on his life and not Ibori. Okiro said in a statement released yesterday that Ribadu is an inveterate liar and desperately wanted to be IG. Ribadu has responded to Okiro, calling him corrupt and a shameless liar. See his press statement below...
Our attention has been drawn to the shameless lies a former Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mike Okiro recklessly spewed to the media yesterday. The cause of Mr. Okiro's anger, the statement, in a London court, by Mallam Nuhu Ribadu that James Ibori was instrumental to his emergence as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) needs no further equivocation as it was an open secret to everybody in the government circle then. If Okiro is now denying this in public, there is no way he can deny this open secret to a number of people including an influential governor from the North-Central then, and a couple of other people who helped facilitate his selection by Ibori. It was this same shameless method of desperate lobbying that Okiro, a chronic political jobber and sycophant of the first order would use in getting subsequent appointments as Chief Security Officer to the PDP national chairman and later, regrettably, as the chairman of the Police Service Commission.

Why I Quit Smoking – Obama

US President Barack Obama said on Monday that he stopped smoking out of fear of his wife, in an unwitting admission captured by a loose microphone.
The US leader, taking part in an event on the sidelines of the annual UN General Assembly on the importance of civil society, was exchanging small talk at the end of his remarks.
In a recording taped by CNN, Obama is standing up after the event and asking the man next to him if he had given up smoking.
When the question is returned to him, Obama, in a light-hearted tone with a smile on his lips, said: “I haven’t had a cigarette in probably six years. That’s because I’m scared of my wife.”
Usually known for his fit figure and healthy lifestyle, Obama has long had a weakness for cigarettes and depicted himself as a smoker in his memoir of his youth, Dreams From My Father.

BlackBerry Move Away from Consumers Unlikely to Stem Decline

BlackBerry Ltd's plan to retreat from the consumer market in favor of its traditional strength serving businesses and governments is widely seen as a desperate move that industry watchers warn will only accelerate its downward spiral.

The strategic shift and dramatic restructuring are fueling fears about BlackBerry's long-term viability. The uncertainty created could easily push a growing number of its telecom partners, business customers and consumers to abandon the platform.

"Perception is nine tenths of reality and if customer and supplier confidence continues to fall it doesn't matter how much cash they have on the balance sheet. Things could get worse," said GMP Securities analyst Deepak Kaushal.
The Canadian smartphone maker, once the leader in wireless email, announced the change in focus on Friday afternoon when it also said it will report a quarterly loss of close to $1 billion and slash more than a third of its workforce, reports Reuters.

Pastor Adeboye Reveals: God Has Not Told Me To Retire As General Overseer

His ascension to the post of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1981 after the death of the founder of the church, Pastor Josiah Akindayomi, was mired by controversy to the extent that some senior pastors of the church, who considered themselves as being superior to then young Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye in age and rank, reportedly left the church in annoyance.

But, it seems that was not the end of the contention for the highly referred post of the GO, which Pastor Adeboye is occupying as the man in-charge of the fastest growing church in the world. Those, who have been clamoruing for his retirement as the GO of the mission after clocking the age of 70 may be in for a shocker.

As Adeboye reportedly revealed few weeks back, nobody can take over from him as GO until God tells him to leave and sit back to watch another person do it.

Lagosians spend N36billion annually on parties - Governor Fashola

Lagos state governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, this weekend revealed that more than N36 billion is spent by Lagosians annually to organise parties. The governor said this at the 4th edition of the Lagos Ignite Enterprise and Employability project, a joint youth empowerment programme between the government and the Afterschool Graduate Development Centre, AGDC.

Governor Fashola said:
“This was the study of night life carried out by the government in five local governments including Agege, Mushin, Ifako-Ijaiye and Ikeja and another local government. It showed that more than N36 billion was spent on 1555 parties held within the period. We did a study between October and November last year. We studied from Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, three days every week for four weeks which was 12 nights. In 12 nights, 1555 parties were held in these local governments. In terms of drinks, food and all other engagements during such parties, about N1.2 billion was spent and when we dis-aggregated them we saw how much went to DJ, MC, food and drinks, the total picture in the state now and I don’t want to give you a wrong number but it’s something in the region of about N3 billion monthly on that side of our life and people are playing and impacting on that side of our economy.
The governor further stated that Aso Ebi alone gulped a minimum of N1.2billion monthly.

Give Me The Chance To Do My Job, Jonathan Tells Critics

Following the barrage of criticism directed at the presidency by the seven aggrieved governors of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and individuals unsatisfied with the President Goodluck Jonathan’s style of leadership, the president yesterday told his critics to stop distracting him and allow him to do his job, warning those seeking his job “not to blow up the house you are seeking to occupy with dynamite.”
Speaking at an interactive lunch held yesterday with the Nigerian Diaspora community at the New York Plaza Hotel, the president also spoke on his achievements and his transformation agenda in office, adding that when he appointed a team to his cabinet, he went out of his way not to appoint politicians but appointed transformers to help him achieve his objectives.

The president mentioned specifically, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina; and Minister of Trade and Investment, Mr. Olusegun Aganga, whom he said he barely knew but appointed them primarily on the basis of the recommendations made to him and their CVs.
“My goal was to bring in more technocrats to the cabinet and not just political appointees. That is why I appointed the likes of Ngozi (Okonjo-Iweala), Adesina and Aganga.
“I did not know these people before I appointed them. When Ngozi was finance minister the first time, I was a deputy governor and out paths hardly crossed. But based on recommendations and their CVs I appointed them to help me in my transformation agenda.

Expert Insight
According to a 2006 study by sociologists W. Bradford Wilcox and Steven L. Nock from the University of Virginia, the level of a husband's emotional engagement matters most when it comes to a woman's happiness. The study, titled "What's Love Got to Do With It? Equality, Equity, Commitment and Women's Marital Quality," was based on a survey of over 5,000 American couples. Wilcox and Nock found that more than anything, married women care about how understanding and affectionate their husbands are and the amount of quality time they get to spend with their husbands.
